Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian (Canadian-American) is a feminist media critic also a speaker who is Canadian. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency a website that hosts videos and commentary analyzing depictions of women's roles in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian has been a blogger, critic of the media and a prestigious feminist for more than 10 years. She is the creator and director-general of Feminist Frequency an educational non-profit website which explores representations of women in pop media narratives. Destroying stereotypes about women are the main goals of her work. But, she also discusses issues of specifically targeted harassment online against women as well as other communities which are left out. Sarkeesian has a degree in political thought and social theory from York University. She is an extremely well-respected and respected public speaking. Sarkeesian has given speeches at the TEDxWomen XOXO Festival and United Nations Broadband Working Group. When she was a student at the university, Sarkeesian became interested in the issues surrounding gender and rights for women at an early stage. The determined lady had planned to create a web series that would examine gender representation in video games. She was the subject of an online harassment campaign. But the assault did not deter her instead it was a boost to her determination to be a feminist media critic. Her numerous contributions to the field of feminists are recognized with numerous awards. Anita Sarkeesian won awards for her role as a critic of media and founded Feminist Frequency. Feminist Frequency is a non-profit organization that explores the portrayals of women in contemporary pop culture.
