Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with twelve other kids. The vivid imagination of her mother was a great way to get away from the harsh realities of everyday life. Before learning how to read and write Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own songs. In 8 years, she had her very first guitar. In the age of 11 when she was 11, she began singing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. The following year, she made her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. Even though she became a local star while in High School, she knew her dreams were much bigger. The year 1964 was the day after her high school graduation, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner's syndicated tv show needed a new singer at around this point. Parton began her career in the year 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974 as her solo songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were charting collaborations with them. Parton recorded "I will Always Be Loving You" for Wagoner shortly after they separated. The track hit the top spot at No. #1 for the first time in 1974.
